Walt Disney World Railroad Tunnel Under TRON Lightcycle Run Takes Shape at Magic Kingdom

Guests have been excited as the Walt Disney World Railroad has been testing again. Now, the tunnel where the train will go underneath the TRON Lightcycle / Run attraction at Magic Kingdom is progressing quickly.

Earlier this week, we saw work progressing on the tunnel underneath TRON Lightcycle/ Run for the Walt Disney World Railroad train.

The railroad has been closed for over three years due to the construction of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland.

Some track was replaced during this time, so the refurbished Walter E. Disney locomotive is being used to test the track.

Just above the green wall, you can clearly make out the train tunnel.

  1. The sounds of the WDW Railroad brings a big part of Walt to life in the Park. The steam whistles are a reminder that Walt’s presence can be heard and felt. Without the trains, a major part of the man himself is missing. Looking forward to their return, hopefully soon!

  2. We are going in mid May, and while I doubt it will be open by then, I would love to be able to ride the train again. My wife, 2 kids, and I go once a year, but this trip will be my niece’s first trip to Disney and I would love it if she could ride the train.

  3. What a slap in the face to Walt. At this rate it will probably end up being closed over 4 years !
Remember it didn’t all start with a mouse, Walt’s love of trains goes back farther than the mouse. Who’s running this place ? Oh never mind
