Florida Breaks Record Again With 77,848 Daily COVID-19 Cases

Florida reported record 77,848 new COVID-19 cases today, according to NBC 6 South Florida.

NBC 6 South Florida reports that Florida reported 58,013 new cases of COVID-19 infections today. However, the actual total of new cases today tallied up to 77,848. That number includes the CDC’s backlog of cases and deaths from past days that were added to daily totals after the fact.

This is the biggest one-day increase in cases and more than double the daily record set a week ago on Christmas Eve of 31,758 cases. It breaks the daily record later set of 46,923.

Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort have not announced any health and safety changes in response to the surge of local cases.
