PHOTOS: Mickey & Friends Glisten on New Disney100 Loungefly Mini Backpack at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration has come to a close, but guests could keep their party hats on as more merchandise celebrating Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder continues to pour into the Magic Kingdom. A new Disney100 Loungefly Mini Backpack is the latest product to celebrate the occasion at the Emporium.

The new simulated leather Disney100 Loungefly has a silvery, sparkly platinum finish. The Disney Parks and Loungefly plaque is on the top front of this mini backpack. The bag has an all-over pattern featuring Mickey and Friends in their purple and platinum Disney100 formalwear costumes. They are surrounded by stars, fireworks, and the Disney100 logo.

On the back, the straps are covered in an art deco design with adjustable silver buckles. Much of the platinum Disney100 merch is art deco, inspired by the 1920s when The Walt Disney Company was founded.

The zippered openings of the bag featured an extra sparkly stitched border. Like the Loungefly plaque on the front, these zippers are dressed up with shimmering glitter.

A new Platinum Disney100 Minnie Mouse Ear Headband is the perfect addition to this new Disney100 Loungefly, featuring the same glittery pattern of Mickey and Friends on silver synthetic leather.

Disney 100 Years of Wonder at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has announced monthly themes for its own version of the 100th-anniversary celebration.

As previously announced, Disney100 will be celebrated mostly at EPCOT with Mickey and Minnie in their platinum outfits and a platinum Mickey sculpture. A new Spectacle of Light show has debuted on Spaceship Earth and, in late 2023, a new Disney100 nighttime spectacular will premiere to replace “EPCOT Forever”, which returned as an interim replacement following the final performance of “Harmonious” this weekend.

Journey of Water, CommuniCore Hall, World Celebration Garden, and Dreamers Point are all scheduled to open in late 2023 at EPCOT.

Plenty of new Disney100 products are also now available for guests across Walt Disney World, including Disney100 Refillable Resort Mugs, Light Up Balloons, Disney100 Collectible Medallions, and Disney100 collectible pressed pennies.

The 100 Years of Wonder celebration is in full swing at Disneyland Resort, where guests can enjoy “Wondrous Journeys” at Disneyland and “World of Color – ONE” at Disney California Adventure. The platinum Mickey sculpture at EPCOT will presumably be the same as the one at Disneyland, which had to be fixed because the Walt Disney quote on the base was incorrect. Disneyland also has a platinum Minnie statue.
