Donald’s boat has reopened as Donald’s Duck Pond in the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown. The boat and pond have new interactive elements and effects featuring Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby from “DuckTales.”
Only half of the play area is actually open right now. The pond side remains closed due to an issue with the water.
There will be fountains as part of a splash pad to play in on this side.
The rules are posted at the entrance. No food, beverages, or glass is allowed in the water play areas. Children shouldn’t use the water features without adult supervision, and diaper-age children must wear swim diapers.
Each porthole on the hull of the boat has a different activity.
When you play that porthole game, it will trigger effects in the window.
This is where the nephews and Webby appear.
The effect works thanks to a window full of water and a dry scene behind it, making it look like the characters are swimming in the “flooded” lower deck of the boat.
Bubbles and some of Scrooge McDuck’s gold coins float up across the windows.
The characters are full figures.
The games are simple, needing no more effort than spinning wheels and pulling levers.
Can you spot the hidden Mickey in this porthole’s effect?
Kids can also play in spinning flower-shaped seats on the spongey pond ground. This side also connects to Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard.
