Universal has debuted a new logo for the upcoming Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort.
The new logo contains a different starry backdrop inside the compass. The golden compass has less defined detail and the text is much larger. Another notable change, as compared to the previous logo below, is that it reads “Universal Epic Universe” rather than “Universal’s.”
This past January, we share some aerial photos of Epic Universe under construction. Epic Universe will be a new Universal Orlando Resort theme park, scheduled to open in the summer of 2025. It will have its own Super Nintendo World. Other details haven’t been officially announced, but the other lands are rumored to be “How to Train Your Dragon,” Universal Classic Monsters, and a third Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
In addition, Universal Orlando Resort also announced their plans to finance, construct, and operate a SunRail station at the Orange County Convention Center, very near the site of Universal’s upcoming Epic Universe park.
Among the many attractions, the new theme park will feature a dual-racing roller coaster.
Last December, at a UBS Global TMT Conference in New York City, NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell confirmed that Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s third theme park will be opened in the summer of 2025. During a question and answer session, Shell stated “We’re right on track. Literally right on track.”
In a shot at Disney, Shell said, “Go back 10 years and say, ‘Is Disney ever going to be challenged in animation?’ I think most people, including me, would say ‘Impossible.’ They are the dominant player in animation. Their position is not going to be challenged ever, I honestly think that not only are we challenging Disney and animation, but I would take our animation business over theirs.”

Just an overall downgrade today, huh, Universal? I liked the first logo more.
