Steve Martin Connects Pepsi Super Bowl Ad to Comic Roots at Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe

While Disney Parks today (minus Shanghai Disney Resort) serve Coca-Cola products, Disneyland not only used to serve Pepsi, but had several attractions sponsored by the corporation. Over the years, that list included “it’s a small world” at the New York World’s Fair, The Country Bear Jamboree on both coasts, and Disneyland’s Golden Horseshoe Saloon.

Comedy legend Steve Martin has claimed many times that the first live comedian he ever saw was Disney Legend Wally Boag at the Golden Horseshoe Saloon in Frontierland at Disneyland. Tonight, Martin took to Twitter to talk about the presence of Pepsi at the beginning of his career and now.

Steve Martin also worked in the Main Street Magic Shop in his younger days, which eventually led to Disney inviting Martin back to host the “Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years” film at the Opera House in 2005, the same year he was made a Disney Legend.
