The Lava Pool slide at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is now closed for refurbishment, while the pool itself remains open.
The bottom of the slide is blocked with a blue panel.
The slide goes under a bridge, which is also closed during the refurbishment.
Sections of the 142-foot slide have been removed for replacement.
The refurbishment is expected to last until early February.
For those who don’t want to use the pool while construction work goes on, the Oasis Pool, which is surrounded by the Hawaii, Samoa, Tokelau, and Nieu longhouses, is also be available to guests.
Are you disappointed that the Lava Pool slide will be closed for about a month? Let us know in the comments below.
Meanwhile, construction continues on the new Disney Vacation Club wing at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

last time we went, my wife and i went down the pirate ship pool slide at beach club. we really enjoyed it except the joinings in the half tubes were not very pleasant to slide over at all.
