Last week, we tried a smattering of new menu items available at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at the Magic Kingdom, including a Grilled Chicken Sandwich, the Sweet-and-Sour Salad With Shrimp or Chicken, Lunar Lemonade, and more! But one new item seems to have evaded us on that trip — the Triple-B Burger. So naturally we blasted off back to Tomorrowland to give it a try!
Triple-B Burger — $12.99
Angus Beef Patty with Bacon, Cheddar Spread, Crispy Onions, and Coca-Cola Cherry-Barbecue Sauce on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries
This burger is not bad! The Coca-Cola Cherry-barbecue sauce has a tang with a bit of a spicy kick. Also, there’s a fizz? It’s bizarre, but we certainly didn’t dislike it.
We didn’t really get any Coke flavor at all. It’s fairly sweet, with a strong aftertaste. It’s as if the spice in the sauce is intended to have the effect of a soft drink.
The burger patties aren’t the greatest here, so the flavors are really helping out the incredibly basic meat. The bun would benefit from being toasted. The bacon is fine, but it could be a bit crispier.
The spread is supposed to be cheddar, although we thought it should be pimento. It’s strong and has a powerful texture; there’s a bunch of flavor here. There’s plenty of creaminess in it, so we believe it may be more than just cheddar.
Overall we actually like it! There’s layers in the flavors here and we appreciate the attempt at a unique flavor with the soda effect, although it fell slightly flat. It’s decent regardless. If you’re gonna get a burger here we’d recommend grabbing this one.
Check out five other new menu items at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe here.
