The dog is served with french fries. It’s being introduced this weekend as part of the Fourth of July festivities, but it will be available through August 11, 2022.

Chicago-style Hot Dog – $11.99

Chicago relish, pico de gallo, and mustard

This tastes just like a classic Casey’s hot dog with mustard and pickles; there’s nothing special about it.

We did get a hidden Mickey in our mustard, which was cute.

The relish was an off-putting green.

The pico de gallo was apparently to replace the pickled sport peppers on a normal Chicago-style hot dog.

There was no celery salt, which is also a Chicago-style standard.

This is fine. It wasn’t terrible, nor was it great. If you enjoy Casey’s, you’ll probably enjoy this option!

  1. I live in Chicago and have never seen a hot dog that looks anything like that. Leave and go to Portillos on Palm Parkway

  2. I’m born and raised in Chicago and I’m sorry but that is not a “real” Chicago Hot Dog. Real Chicago Hot Dogs include a poppy seed bun, mustard, sweet relish, onions, tomatoes, celery salt, and a pickle spear; sport peppers are optional.

  3. This is about as Chicago-Style as the kid who occasionally took Metra from Naperville to the city to do tourist things on the weekends and claims they grew up in Chicago… I lived in the city for 5 years.

  4. It looks good but that is not a Chicago style hot dog. Although the relish being an “off-putting green” is at least true to form.
