New Chandeliers Visible Inside Refurbished Rooms, Exterior Construction Continues on Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Refurbished resort studio rooms are under construction at The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for Disney Vacation Club members. Areas of the resort have been closed and covered in scaffolding as the buildings are updated inside and out.

The lights seem to be the new small chandeliers seen in previews.

  1. I have mixed feelings. On one hand, the last redesign of the guest rooms were a horrendous departure from the classic victorian peach colors and decor that was a GF signature style since opening day, they needed to be refurbished badly. They look to be of much quality and more in line with what a flagship resort should have.
On the other hand, I am disappointed in the alteration of the room colors and what seems to be less “victorian” and more modern “whimsical” take on Victorian. Call me a traditionalist, but I think its a mistake to try and “modernize” the GF’s style in anyway. Disney isn’t Vegas and Chaepek needs to get that
