Construction Continues on World Nature Restrooms, World Celebration Guest Relations, and More at EPCOT

Even as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is completed and opens to some guests, construction continues throughout EPCOT. In addition to Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana,” there are several small construction projects in World Celebration and World Nature.

Construction walls currently block the pathway to the right of Spaceship Earth.

We reported recently that these restrooms in World Nature were closed for refurbishment.

From the Monorail, we could just barely see through the restroom doors, where exposed pipes are visible after wall paneling was removed.

Next to the construction site for Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana,” we saw a large hole in the ground.

Safety netting surrounds the hole, and wooden poles are visible inside.

A box-shaped structure is in the center.

After one of a trio of planters was demolished in World Nature, rolling planters surround the ongoing construction.

The demolition of the third planter has helped to open up the sidewalk. The remaining planter has yet to be filled with plants.

On the other side of Spaceship Earth, we checked out the construction outside of the World Celebration Guest Relations.

Guest Relations is closed for refurbishment and instead available at the entrance.

A long swath of dirt is visible outside Guest Relations.

Up close, we could better see that plants have been removed from the planters. Planks of wood and other construction materials sit outside.

From the ground, we took a look at the tower between Guest Relations and Connections.

The top of the tower was extended with steel a few months ago.

Paneling has now been added around the top of the tower. Some blue weather-proof sheathing is visible, too.

The tower and Guest Relations have yet to be fully painted to match Connections and Creations Shop, which are now a simple off-white color.

On the other side of the tower, some black sheathing is still exposed.

Painting has begun on the underside of the roof overhang. One panel has been painted off-white, while the rest remain blue.
