BREAKING: Space Mountain and Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover at Magic Kingdom Closed Due to Possible Fire

Update: The alarms were caused by a smoking break room refrigerator according to Reedy Creek firefighters, there was no actual fire. The original article remains below.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover and Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom are both currently closed.

Guests reported hearing a fire alarm and Cast Members evacuating them from the Space Mountain building. The Reedy Creek Fire Department responded to an unknown incident at Space Mountain around 3:45 p.m.

The PeopleMover runs through every building of Tomorrowland, so fire emergencies in any building will lead to it pausing operations. We do not yet know if there was an actual fire or another emergency. Guests reported lengthy evacuation times and a “small fire,” but no official word from Disney has been issued.

This is a developing story; please stay tuned for updates.

  1. What has happened with the appearance standards for cast members. One wearing shorts, the rest in slacks. Hands in pockets, long facial hair, wool beanie, half shaven. Understand change with times but that just looks sloppy.
