Peach Melba and Raspberry Cupcake with a Peach Filling
This is not so much a cupcake as a cake with topping. There was no trace of raspberry flavor, despite both the usual preparation of peach melba and the item’s description including it.
The description also says there is filling, but our cake had nothing but toppings.
The white around the edge of the cake is meringue foam, which is fun.
This is a good alternative to the usually overwhelmingly sweet and sugary cupcakes. That being said, we did feel like it needed more toppings or flavors.
There isn’t enough peach topping to balance out the rather dry cake and meringue.
The peach topping is sweet and slightly tart though, like a spring peach. It’s also thick, like jelly.
We would prefer the cake to be moister, but it was a good basic pound cake with a cute presentation. As the item wasn’t really what was described—a cupcake with filling and raspberry flavor—we wouldn’t order it again. We don’t regret trying this new treat, though, as it was still good enough for a baked dessert.
