With the removal of physical distancing, the “rope drop” experience is returning to Walt Disney World. At the beginning of June, we experienced rope drop at EPCOT, now it has returned to Magic Kingdom.
Guests were let down Main Street, U.S.A. into the park’s hub before opening this morning.
Crowds gathered at each bridge, where ropes blocked entry into the lands.
The rope drop experience was suspended for the past year, with guests held outside of the park until opening time.
There was no distancing to be seen as guests waited to be the first on their favorite ride.
If you need your space, the crowds are usually focused on the land entrances, so there is still open area in the hub and on Main Street.
These crowds also point to Walt Disney World’s ever-increasing capacity.

As with EPCOT, this did not need to come back . . .
What’s the issue with this? Doesn’t this just allow guests into the park earlier?
Agreed. If you are going to do part of the “rope drop experience” then Disney needs to bring it all back. The stage show did not happen. Also, a little girl passed out near my wife on the bridge to Fantasyland. Fun times…..
Edit: I replied to the wrong thread, but the point remains the same…
Ok but no stage show? That’s part of the rope drop experience at Magic Kingdom. Not mentioned at all in the article.
