Guests at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can splash the day away again as the Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area reopens. While most of the resort is still closed as the rooms are themed to Moana, the Polynesian Villas and Bungalows are still open.

The Kiki Tikis underwent a refurbishment beginning in February. While Disney’s official website still lists the splash play area as closed, it has reopened to guests this week.

The repainted play structure looks brand new. The netting and safety fences were also replaced as part of the refurbishment.

Guests and lifeguards are visible with the water effects activated.

The water looks refreshing in the strong Florida sunshine.

As we approach the late-July reopening date, the splash area’s reopening signals the resort’s first completed project as part of the larger overhaul.

In addition to the splash area and room refurbishment, the resort’s entrance is undergoing a large transformation, including a new monorail station.
