We are continuing to monitor the progress of the reimagined Great Ceremonial House entrance and Monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which is currently under refurbishment for the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. Today, we noticed the new Monorail station is starting to take shape since our last visit.
Several additional platforms have been constructed along the Monorail line, on top of concrete pillars.
Framing can be seen around additional pillar structures, allowing more of the Monorail platforms to be constructed.
Most of the new platforms have received wood paneling above the metal beams.
Construction continues on the pillars on the other side of the Monorail.
Concrete encases the pillars to the height of the Monorail platform.
From this angle, you can compare the work that has been completed on each side of the Monorail track, with construction on the pillars on the right side of the photo being a bit further along.
It shouldn’t be too long until we see platforms constructed around these pillars as well.
As construction continues to be very active, fencing has been extended further into the parking lot.
Once complete, the reimagined entryway at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will feature a high-pitched, open-truss roof covered in a thatched style. The Monorail station will have bold new wooden screens covered with geometric patterns in bright, tropical colors that complete an exciting new composition that will greet you when you arrive.

Now I’m so excited for the new entrance of the Polynesian Village Resort! This will be awesome hotel!
