Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is in the middle of a grand refurbishment just in time for the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. Brand new Moana-themed resort rooms, as well as a reimagined Great Ceremonial House entrance and monorail station are some of the many updates in progress at the resort this year.

We reported last month that the monorail station in front of the resort was making some great progress, and we are back with another update.

Last week, all of these pillars were still mostly metal framing, but today the concrete is filled in up to the height of the monorail platform.

Steel beams comprise the base of the platforms, which are now covered with a layer of wood paneling. Several additional platforms have been constructed this week.

The pillars have all been standing upright for some time as they settle in, but now they are all covered in concrete instead of just metal framing.

Most of the pillars now have both the metal platform and the wood paneling, as opposed to only a few pillars on the far side from last week’s update.

The framed structuring now extends farther along and is on both sides, allowing more of the monorail platforms to be constructed around each pillar.

Only a few pillars are left without their attached platforms.
