Thanks to bioreconstruct on Twitter, we have an aerial view of how the demolition of Innoventions West is progressing at EPCOT.
As we saw a few days ago, a significant portion of the Innoventions West roof has been removed.
Innoventions West is little more than its bare bones now. To the left is a curved section of concrete that covered the basement of the other West building that was already leveled. This will be staying for use by the new festival facilities, whatever those may look like at this point.
Here we can see the construction walls surrounding the site. Planters to the left within the walls are all reduced to rubble now.
The roof of Mouse Gear and the old Innoventions East building is being refurbished. The only section of roof that remains to be fixed is above the temporary Mouse Gear location.
The construction site is split up into sections with orange barriers.
Keep checking WDWNT for updates about the World Celebration neighborhood and other construction projects at EPCOT.
Why does it take so freaking long to take down this building? Disney does everything in slow motion.
Does anyone know when the finish date for the reconstruction on Epcot is? We are bringing my in laws who hasn’t been to Disney since 1980 in September and I am hoping they can see all the parks. They only saw a portion of Epcot the last time they were there, and that is the one they really wanted to go to. Thanks for any info.
Probably 2023 now.
I was at Epcot 2 weeks ago and the part under construction was nothing to be missed. It was a really old attraction that nobody even went to anymore. All the good stuff is still there and very open so don’t let the construction discourage you, it looks bigger in the pic but it was only a very small portion of the park.
This isn’t the only construction site though. People don’t like to visit when parks are like this.
