The Fantasmic! nighttime spectacular has not been available since Disney’s Hollywood Studios reopened. A recent digital map update, however, shines new light on the show. The Disney World app has been updated to include a detailed Sorcerer Mickey at Fantasmic!
Zoomed out, we can see colorful spotlights and a tiny Sorcerer Mickey.
When zoomed, the Fantasmic! art takes on a three-dimensional look. Sorcerer Mickey has even more detail.
Pinching to zoom reveals the extent of the detail. Sorcerer Mickey is rendered to the extent of our imagination.
While the map change was not accompanied by a reopening announcement, and we don’t want to read too much into it, it may be an indicator that Fantasmic! will return sooner rather than later. We recently noticed that two shuttered shows — “Festival of the Lion King” and “Finding Nemo: The Musical” — have been removed from Disney’s Animal Kingdom print maps.
What do you think of this detailed artwork? Is it a sign that Fantasmic! will soon be back? Share your thoughts in the comments.
I will be so excited when the Covid-19 will end and I will be back.
This sounds interesting I would love for Fantasmic to come back to Disneys Hollywood Studios.
