The holiday weekend is upon us, and we’re ready for the next few days to be busy. Although the parks have been pretty quiet lately, we noticed more crowds Friday, even though wait times were low all around the parks. Let’s make our way to Universal Studios Florida first to see what’s new.
The parks recently switched from Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to Haagen-Dazs and we’ve been expecting the Ben & Jerry’s location in New York to get a make over. The process has begun and we noticed that the flooring has been removed. The Ben & Jerry’s decal on the door has also been removed, although the signage outside still remains.
Revenge of the Mummy is scheduled to reopen this weekend after a brief refurbishment. We spotted Team Members out setting up stanchions and queue ropes ahead of the reopening. We expect it will be very busy and can’t wait to ride again.
Another day of work out on the lagoon platform.
Crowds around the park weren’t bad and wait times were low. We’ll be interested to compare these slow days to the crowds during the weekend.
It’s time for a Krusty Burger in Springfield.
The parks didn’t feel too busy Friday.
Over at Islands of Adventure, we decided to stop into Hogsmeade and check out Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. It was at a 45 minute wait, which is probably the lowest we will see until after the holiday weekend, so we decided to jump in line. We only waited 15 minutes and we were on the ride. It was our lucky day.
We’ve been craving Mythos Restaurant in the Lost Continent for a while and decided to stop in and warm up with a Fork, Knife, and Spoon Grilled Cheese. This is one of our favorite meals in the park. A three cheese grilled cheese is served with crispy pork belly and chips in a bowl of Tuscan tomato soup. You can’t go wrong with this one.
It’s a beautiful day for VelociCoaster testing.
