Join us on another room tour as we stay in one of the unique Garden Wing Deluxe Rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The Garden Wing is adjacent to the Main Tower and gives a view of the gardens, pools, marina, and Bay Lake. There are only three rooms in this category at the Contemporary, two with Juliet balconies and one on the ground with a double patio. The Deluxe Room sleeps up to four adults with a King bed and a Queen-size pullout sofa. We’ll kick off our tour with a video walkthrough of the room, but keep scrolling for photos of the room as well!
Entryway
As soon as you enter, you’ll find two closets to your right.
The first closet has the extra pillow and blanket, plus the luggage rack. The second closet has the iron, ironing board, built-in safe, and two drawers.
Between the two closets is the coffee station.
Here you’ll find the Keurig machine, coffee and tea K-cups, disposable beverage cups, and ice bucket.
In the cabinet below is the mini-fridge and some drawers to act as a small pantry. Extra K-cups are provided of both regular and decaf Joffrey’s coffee.
Sodas and water are not included.
Living Room
There’s a wet bar before entering the main living room. Given what a popular resort this is for conferences, this room type works well as a hospitality suite.
These Deluxe rooms are oddly-shaped because they sit at the corner of the building. The living room and bedroom are one large space, but the bed is around a corner.
This large living room has a sofa, chairs, and a small desk.
There’s a large TV between the two windows—do note that the TV is mounted and does not swivel over to the living room area, an odd choice given the room layout.
The sofa folds out into a Queen-size bed.
There’s plenty of space in here to have the sofa folded out and still sit in the chairs.
We had a beautiful Bay Lake view, but neither window has a real balcony.
There are sliding glass doors and a railing, but there’s a bit of a drop-off between the two.
Guests staying in a Deluxe Room on the ground floor do get a patio with chairs and a table.
The desk has one unit built into the wall and a rolling table that fits under the main unit. The rolling table is a feature included in all Contemporary Tower and Garden Wing rooms, and works great for in-room dining, especially with the prevalence of to-go orders and social distancing.
There are standard outlets above the desk, though not extra USB ports.
The TV sits in a dresser unit.
Bedroom
Around the corner is the king-size bed.
The room has a lot of open space.
Once again, the window does not have a balcony.
We can see the pool from this side of the room.
You can open these sliding doors for a touch of fresh air.
Both sides of the bed have an end table. There are no drawers, just a cabinet.
There are reading lights above the bed, with dimmer switches on either side of the headboard.
Bathroom
There are two entrances to the bathroom: one next to the king bed and one off the entryway.
There’s a double vanity with lit mirrors.
There’s a rack on the front of the vanity for hand towels. You’ll find all of your amenities on the counter between the sinks. Do note that there is somewhat limited counter and storage space here.
Behind this sliding door is the toilet and a small standing shower.
There’s no light in this shower, unfortunately.
Unlike many of the refurbished resorts, the amenities in the showers are not mounted.
Back in the main part of the bathroom is a tub that also has a shower. We appreciate having two spots for bathing, and this would be nice for any families staying in the Deluxe Room.
Again, there are no mounted amenities.
