After some back and forth on spelling, the new Keister Coaster water slide at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort has finally been unveiled inside the Luna Park Pool.
This morning, Disney revealed photos of the corrected version of the slide artwork, which replaced the former clown design. Now, scaffolding has come down at the resort, giving guests a first-hand look at the completed area.
The all-new Keister Coaster water slide design at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort features Mickey and friends in a style akin to the new animated shorts, similar to Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Contractors are still on site overseeing the final touches to the slide. Construction walls are still up, bookending the slide face currently.
The previous “Kiester Coaster” typo has been addressed by way of a new decal. Of course, this also inadvertently speaks to what many fans have deemed overuse of decals throughout Walt Disney World, with projects no longer becoming the feats of artistic mastery we’ve seen Disney create over the years. The former clown design, while inevitably scary for some, was undoubtedly unique with its sculpted elements, compared to this “flat”, 2-D design.
The slide is set to reopen “soon” after the refurbishment is fully completed at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort. Work in the pool area will continue through the end of this year. Luna Park Pool, as well as 2 leisure pools at remain open during the refurbishment.
It’s cute but I miss the clown
I’m here to say I miss the clown too. The creepiness was what it was all about.
So they themed the pool slide to a pool slide. The new Disney imagination never ceases to amaze me.
“If you can fart it, then you can do it.”
