Jurassic World VelociCoaster has been Universal Orlando Resort’s worst-kept secret, with construction of the coaster ongoing for a year before an official announcement was made. We now have concept art and a POV video of what the coaster will look like when it opens next summer, but there’s also nothing like visiting VelociCoaster itself still under construction at Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

We’ve been seeing a lot of new details at the construction site, including more plants and fencing.

Crews were hard at work at the base of the coaster in front of the Jurassic Park Discovery Center.

Jurassic World VelociCoaster is going to be Florida’s fastest and tallest coaster of this kind.

The construction wall is no longer blocking part of the Burger Digs entrance.

There is scaffolding around the supports of this section of coaster.

We can still see one of our raptor friends wrapped in plastic inside.

This permanent fence was recently installed, and we saw more work being done in this area. A ladder was leading down towards the water.

There also appeared to be work being done inside this tunnel. Or some workers were taking a well-deserved break in the shade.

This “new species of coaster” won’t be opening until summer 2021, but we did see a ride vehicle being tested on the coaster recently. Watch our video below or check out our photos.
