Happy Thanksgiving from the Universal Orlando Resort. We were expecting the holiday crowds to be a lot more intense today, but things were calm and relaxed around the resort.
We started our day over at Islands of Adventure. Everyone seems to make their way to Hogsmeade first. This was probably the most crowding we would see the entire day.
We discovered that a few weeks ago, the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey on-ride photo was changed. Now you’ll be flying with Harry rather than facing a dragon.
We made our way over to Universal Studios Florida next to check out the crowds and it was very quiet around the park. This was a great day.
The holidays should be spent with family, so it’s no surprise that Fast and Furious: Supercharged had a 120 minute standby wait time.
Inside Universal’s Holiday Experience featuring Macy’s, we got to meet Gingy from Shrek. He was near the Gingy balloon, where you can normally find Puss in Boots. Gingy is so cute!
We stopped to watch the Beat Builders perform their new holiday show. This is the first time they’ve done a holiday show and it started a week later than the rest of the holiday entertainment, so if you missed it, be sure to stop and check it out on your next visit. Or, you can watch our YouTube video below.
We decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner at Lombard’s Seafood Grille. They had a 3 course meal for $27.99.
Every part of this meal, from start to finish, was delicious and exceeded our expectations.
Now that we’re full of turkey, we’re going to go take a nap. Thanks for joining us around the parks today and we’ll see you next time!
Annie – how far in advance did you book thanksgiving? We’ll be in town for Christmas, trying to figure out what to do, haven’t seen any special menus/dining yet. Have a 4.5 and 7 yr old, so nothing too crazy. :)
