Popcorn is no small matter here at Tokyo Disney Resort. Flavors regularly rotate in, out, and around carts across Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. Since it’s such a phenomenon here, there’s now a dedicated popcorn shop as part of the massive New Fantasyland expansion at Tokyo Disneyland—The Big Pop! And thanks to pictures released by the Oriental Land Company, we finally have a sneak peek inside the exciting galactic popcorn shop.
Exterior
The Big Pop was one of the last things to be revealed from scaffolds during construction, so it’s quite a pleasant surprise to see everything lit up and completed in this unique space-popcorn hybrid shop. It’s really quite nice at night as well. The main sign pulses like an explosion at night.
Interior
Right inside the shop is a display with all three popcorn flavors as well as the types of buckets on sale within the store. We’ll have more details on these below.
The counter has three registers with wide displays for Guests to view the new popcorn flavors. Behind the counter, more popcorn buckets are on display for Guests to purchase.
All three flavors are prominently displayed under the counter like at a movie theater.
Above on the ceiling is a celestial design and a chandelier reminiscent of a galaxy, but with popcorn instead.
Menu
Three popcorn flavors have been created especially for The Big Pop, each container costs ¥500 ($4.73), a ¥100 increase over standard popcorn flavors.
