Magic Kingdom guests have long enjoyed the scenic view of Cinderella Castle lit up at night. Of course, this popular stroll through the park at night has become nearly impossible for most guests. Hours of operation at the Magic Kingdom have been greatly reduced since the reopening in July. We took the scene for granted during the pre-pandemic days.
However, we were stunned at how the scene changed. Disney completed repainting the castle and moat area back in August. The blues became bolder and a pink tone had been layered over much of the structure. During the daytime, the difference is striking, but at night, it is remarkably different, as well.
Notice the details alight in strong pinks and blues. As the color of Cinderella Castle was many hues lighter, it didn’t appear with such bold colors.
Typically, you wouldn’t see the castle illuminated at night since the park closes before dark. However, some dining experiences with late reservations provide a few guests a look at the newly painted castle’s appearance under the lights.
The park was empty. There weren’t even many cast members around. However, as park hours are extended, more guests will be able to experience this walk for themselves.
After passing through the castle hallway and emerging into Fantasyland, we caught the moon in the background.
