Hello from Magic Kingdom! We were pleasantly surprised this morning to see it was fairly calm crowd-wise at the park. (Our guess is that everyone was at Hollywood Studios, trying to get a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance.) Let’s see what’s happening around the park!
To ring in the new year, Disney has been releasing lots of 2020 merchandise. Today, a series of 2020 phone cases were added to the D-tech on Demand kiosks. Even though we may be in denial about the end of the decade, we still think these phone cases are cool. The standard cases are $29.99 and the specialty (3D) case is $34.99.
You cannot escape the cuteness of Baby Yoda. We spotted this 3D phone case for the iPhone X and 11 in Curtain Call. At Tomorrowland Light & Power Co., Baby Yoda items are now included in the D-Tech on Demand display.
To celebrate the release of the One Day at Disney book, the author and some of the featured cast members were doing a book signing event at Main Street Cinema later in the day.
The piano outside of Casey’s Corner was getting a tuning, allowing us to get a nice look inside it.
The new Disney Park color, “Belle of the Ball” Bronze, has officially arrived at Magic Kingdom. Large displays were in the Emporium and Star Traders. Ear headbands were available throughout the park.
Some snazzy ornaments caught our eye in the Emporium. This one is made of layers of metal to give a 3D diorama effect. It retails for $19.99.
These ceramic ear ornaments feature the park icons in a map-like fashion. It costs $16.99.
Not much progress has happened on the Tomorrowland project to remove all of the 1994 New Tomorrowland accents.
A family of birds has made their nest under the PeopleMover.
The Tomorrowland stage has received some fresh paint.
Over at the TRON construction site, retaining walls have been put in near the coaster’s launch section.
Cinderella’s seamstress mice friends, Suzy and Perla, were scurrying throughout Fantasyland, being their sassy selves.
The spirits were particularly restless today, causing Haunted Mansion to have some downtime.
Mary Poppins was walking throughout Liberty Square, looking practically perfect in every way.
In Adventureland, the OMG Disney Magic Carpet beach towels are back in stock at Zanzibar Traders. They cost $28.75 with tax.
Finally in Frontierland, we spotted a man casually sharing his popcorn with a squirrel. While we are NOT ENCOURAGING this in any way, it did make for a pretty cute photo op.
Thanks for joining us for our day at Magic Kingdom! We hope you enjoyed it. Check WDWNT for the most up-to-date Disney Parks news!
