The time has come! Annual Passholder blockout dates are being lifted and the Disneyland Resort is feeling more crowded than it has so far this summer. If you’re someone who hasn’t had a chance to visit all summer, here’s what’s happening at Disneyland Park, including updates on the Tomorrowland refurbishment and the newest Disney Parks Designer Minnie Ears.
Disneyland Park
Main Street, U.S.A.
Upon entering Disneyland, we decide to head straight for Disneyana, to see how much Haunted Mansion 50th anniversary merchandise is still in stock.
Thankfully, they seemed to have quite a bit! We really love the cozy throw blankets and the photo frames.
If you’re a pin collector, there is still a variety of Limited Edition pins in stock.
The Disney Parks Designers ears by Kim Irvine are still in stock, too.
Disney Showcase nearby has been taken over by the new Halloween merchandise. If you’re one of the many looking to buy a Pumpkin Mickey Loungefly Backpack, there are plenty in stock here.
At 20th Century Music Company on Main Street, we found four new “The Nightmare Before Christmas” open edition pins for sale. The first pin features Jack Skellington on the hill in front of a full moon, surrounded by Oogie Boogie, Lock, Shock, and Barrel. The second is simply meant to be for you lovers of Jack and Sally. Both of these pins cost $12.99 each.
Zero, Jack’s trust ghost dog, finally has his own pin! As does Dr. Finkelstein. These pins cost $9.99 each.
Across the street in Fortuosity Shop, the new Betsey Johnson Disney Parks Designer collection is available for purchase. There are pink and black fuzzy ears that really scream “Betsey.”
And there’s a collection of jewelry for sale too, to match the ears or any colorful Parks outfit.
Disney Clothiers has several new “Frozen” clothes items for girls. These adorable leggings feature Anna and Elsa surrounded by a floral print. These can be purchased for $24.99.
This cute Elsa girl shirt is also available for $24.99.
As is this pink Anna shirt.
And for cooler weather, this new “Frozen” Hoodie featuring Sven, Kristoff, Olaf, Anna, and Elsa is the perfect option. It retails for $34.99.
Tomorrowland
Last week, we posted about the Tomorrowland refurbishment that is currently taking place. The curb inclines are being lowered, just as they were throughout the rest of Main Street earlier this year. But that’s not all! The “French fry” rocks are also in the process of being removed with this refurbishment.
The construction walls line a significant portion of the entrance to Tomorrowland and extend towards Sleeping Beauty Castle.
And the pathway past Pixie Hollow to Tomorrowland is also lined with scrim.
Even though the “French fry” rocks are an iconic part of Tomorrowland, we’re happy to see that they’re finally being removed with this new refurbishment. Congestion has been a consistent problem in Tomorrowland, especially around the Land entrance. The rocks removal should help significantly.
Fantasyland
The area of Matterhorn where a chunk of rockwork fell off and onto the track is still covered by scrim. This is one of our favorite picture spots, so we’re a little bummed to see the scrim and lack of waterfall.
Further, into Fantasyland, we managed to catch the Pearly Band in line to ride King Arthur Carousel.
And nearby Pinocchio’s Daring Journey had a long line, a sight that we rarely see at Disneyland. Snow White’s Scary Adventures was temporarily closed, so that’s like the reason this attraction had a surge in guests.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
The crowds in Batuu weren’t too chaotic today, but there was a consistent line of guests waiting to enter Oga’s Cantina.
At Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiques, Kyber Crystals are still only being sold with the purchase of a Holocron. Cast Members couldn’t say for how long this practice will continue for.
Unfortunately, Astromech Personality Chips are still sold out at Droid Depot.
At Black Spire Outfitters, we found a new youth Utility Vest for sale. Despite the lighting in the shop, these vests are black and feature several pockets on the front.
This would be a cute option for a Han Solo costume. This vest costs $39.99.
On our way out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we managed to spot Chewbacca and Vi Moradi recruiting guests to join the Resistance.
New Orleans
There have been slight changes to the merchandise carts just outside of The Haunted Mansion attraction exit. The cart with “The Nightmare Before Christmas” merchandise has been moved under awnings closer to the Splash Mountain queue.
And the cart selling Host a Ghost Jars remains in the place where “The Nightmare Before Christmas” merchandise used to be sold.
At Le Bat En Rouge, a new “Hocus Pocus” dress is for sale for $128.00. This spooky new dress is very colorful and features the Sanderson Sisters front and center on the skirt.
The back the drop has cute embroidery of the sisters’ brooms with the quote “Tonight We Fly!” This dress would be perfect to wear to Oogie Boogie Bash if you’re not a fan of costumes but still want to dress up.
Or perhaps you’ll like this new Haunted Mansion dress better? This dress features the infamous wallpaper design on the skirt with an ombre purple effect. It also retails for $128.00.
Frontierland
We’re still a few weeks away from the official kick-off of the Halloween season at Disneyland Resort, but that’s not stopping Pioneer Mercantile in Frontierland.
The shop already has a display of pumpkins outside the shop, as well as a massive display of the Halloween merchandise inside the store.
Those are all the updates we have from this trip to Disneyland Park! Be sure to check us out on both Twitter and Instagram for more updates from the Disneyland Resort.
