These days around Walt Disney World, when one tram loop or entrance finally opens, another goes down for construction. Thanks to some permit sleuthing, we knew back in February that a new tram shade structure was in the works for the park, but up until today, no real signs of construction had come to the park.
That is, until all these screened fences popped up.
You can see them lining the walkway over to the entrance to the park. There’s one set by ride share pick-up/drop-off area and one set of walls closer to the bus drop-off area.
As we tweeted over the weekend, markings on the floor detail further plumbing and construction work to take place across the area:

Thankfully, you won’t have to make any major changes to your park touring plan as the old tram loop is still running.
We’ll keep you updated as soon as tram closes so you can plan accordingly! There is the possibility of a new security check area, but this is just speculation as of now.
These are all part of Resort-wide improvements to the guest flow at the parks, with every park getting an entrance revamp, as well as added security changes. Stay tuned to WDW News Today as we bring you the latest developments and updates on this project and more!
In the permit, it’s very clear that the tram drop-off loop is pushed further towards the parking lot, and that this new structure is for security. That dirt patch is where the new loop turn around will be.
