It’s not Spider-Sense, but we’ve been given a look into the future, thanks to some leaked blueprints.
Those blueprints have revealed the layout of the Spider-Man ride coming to Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris, where it’s going under the code name “Slingshot.” We’ve also learned that the same layouts will be used for the Disney California Adventure iteration of the attraction.
The photos, which come via OutsidEars, also provide renderings of what the building’s exterior should look like when the attractions open in their respective parks. These images specifically pertain to the Walt Disney Studios Park version of the attraction. The building, which which will reportedly be nearly twice the size of the attraction it’s replacing, “Armageddon: Les Effets Spéciaux,” will have “an architectural style inspired by New York port warehouses,” featuring red brick work and exposed steel. (At Disney California Adventure, the ride will replace “It’s Tough to Be a Bug,” which closed with the rest of “A Bug’s Land” to make way for the Marvel-themed land.

The blueprints provide an even better look at what will be happening once you get inside.
According to OutsidEars, the ride will supposedly have three queues: standby, FastPass, and Single Rider. Once they’re through an outdoor, but covered queue, guests will then enter one of two pre-show areas, before donning their 3-D glasses and going off on their adventure. The ride vehicle will be able to hold up to eight passengers, and will be on a track.
Here’s our description of the attraction at Disney California Adventure based on our sources:
The former “it’s tough to be a bug” Theater building [in Disney California Adventure] is being re-purposed for the new Spider-Man attraction where guests are given a web-shooter of their own to use. The ride appears to be mostly screen-based (likely 3-D in nature), so think Toy Story Midway Mania, but with guests shooting webs instead of darts, balls, and rings. The entrance to the building will be rerouted to the opposite side of so it can be accessed from the hub of this new land. The central hub is a large Avengers symbol in the ground that is surrounded by all of the land’s offerings. Think of this as The Avengers’ California Campus.
The Spider-Man queue is attached to the former “tissue box” restrooms of A Bug’s Land, which will be remodeled and kept for the new area.
We don’t have confirmation on whether the web-shooters will be hand-motion controlled or if you’ll have a web slinger device like the superhero.
Once guests have saved the day with the help of the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, guests will end their adventure in the classic Disney fashion: by exiting through a gift shop.
The plans, believe it or not, are strikingly similar to the Toy Story Mania blueprint we approximated all the way back in 2008!
OutsidEars has also provided exterior blueprints of the attraction.
This blueprint will show how the attraction will fit into Walt Disney Studios Park.
As we reported in March, Disney has released a brief description of the ride itself:
Disney is expanding its story universe by creating a new organization, the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, to be the setting for this experience. Though WEB is grounded in classic characters like Peter Parker, it is an organization that all guests can be a part of – one that invites guests to engage with these iconic heroes like never before.
Besides WEB, there’s also brand-new, cutting-edge interface as part of this fun, interactive attraction. Through a blend of never-before-seen technology and practical effects, guests will get to experience for themselves what it is like to have the abilities of a Super Hero.
This adventure will blend seamlessly into the story of the new lands Disney is creating at both Disney California Adventure park and Walt Disney Studios park, where there will be surprises at every turn!
We don’t have a confirmed date of when the Spider-Man attraction will open, but we do know that the Marvel-themed land will open to guests sometime next year.

Wow, it’s not enough to clone rides across different parks- they’re now cloning rides within the same park… how disappointing and cheap.
This is bad news. The swinging attraction vehicle was the hope.
Wow! Didn’t even try to outdo the Universal Studios version.
