What might be one of the most photogenic areas in all of Walt Disney World, the Tree of Life Garden at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a wonderful place to relax and escape the crowds. And now, just in time for the upcoming Easter and summer crowds, it has reopened after a few months behind walls for refurbishment. It’s back and looking better than ever! Take a look at one of our favorite Animal Kingdom hideouts.

Part of the Discovery Island Trails, the area can be accessed across the path from Creature Comforts (Starbucks) or at the other end by the entrance to “it’s tough to be a bug”.

It is much easier to see the red kangaroos from this pathway.

The only construction walls that remain are those by the back of the kangaroo exhibit.

The main difference appears to be the new otter house that was installed for the also recently refurbished Otter Grotto, which opened back up just yesterday.

Between the sweeping, up-close views of the Tree of Life and these amazing caves and waterfalls, we really love this path.

Some landscaping was also done on the far side, by the ring-tailed lemur exhibit.

  1. Thanks for the update. One of my favorite areas in any theme park. Not overly-pleased about the addition of the otter building in what was a fully natural feeling area, but at least they tied it in to the AK Entry style. Glad to have it back and free of overhead netting.
