During the latest Nintendo Direct, a new Tsum Tsum video game for Nintendo Switch was announced. Disney Tsum Tsum Festival is every plush fan’s dream, as this game gives players the opportunity to play as Disney’s cutest collectables in an assortment or competitive and cooperative mini games.
How do you narratively justify a game about Tsum Tsums? Well, the story goes something like this: After a long day at the toy store, the Tsum Tsums are ready to kick back and have some fun by hosting a festival. During this “Tsum Tsum Festival”, players will join with up to four friends locally or online with players around the world to embark on a variety of games together.
Of course it wouldn’t be a proper Tsum Tsum game without paying homage to the hit mobile game that got these toys their start in the video game space. A match-style puzzle game mode will also be included in Disney Tsum Tsum Festival, akin to LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum and Marvel Tsum Tsum. It appears this mode will be played by turning the Nintendo Switch horizontally and using touch controls, like a mobile device.
Disney Tsum Tsum Festival is being made by Bandai Namco and will be out sometime in 2019.
