Flamingo Crossings to Add Two New Hotels Near Walt Disney World

The Orlando Business Journal has reported that Disney is bringing two more hotels to the Flamingo Crossings development area.

There is an 18-acre lot that is soon to be home to the Holiday Inn Resort and a Hyatt House. The hotels are expected to share amenities, such as a courtyard and a pool area.

The Holiday Inn is an eight-story building with 173 rooms, while the Hyatt House is a five-story and six-story building mash up with 148 rooms. That brings the total 321 additional rooms for Disney in Flamingo Crossings. The plans seem to include a ramp to the basement which implies a lower-level loading area for vehicles or potentially a parking garage.

The total cost of the construction is estimated at roughly $32-million. This will also be great for the people living in the area because it is expected to create about 300 temporary jobs for construction and 100 permanent jobs inside the hotel.

Flamingo Crossings has become a popular spot for hotel development as it seems to be attempting to mimic the likes of I-drive and Lake Buena Vista by offering other fun things to do besides just go to the theme parks.

The two new hotels will be added to the four hotels that were confirmed earlier in June of this year for Flamingo Crossings. There are also plans for other shopping, dining, and even apartments rumored to go in to Flamingo Crossings.
