BREAKING: Star Wars Hotel Layout and Connections to Disney’s Hollywood Studios Revealed

We finally have our answer as to how the Star Wars Hotel at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be located and accessed.

Permits filed with the South Florida Water Management District reveal that guests staying at the hotel will drive from the parking lot at Hollywood Studios over the drainage canal to get to the front entrance of the hotel.

There will be a pathway for guests to walk to a special entrance to the park. This entrance will put guests between the Millennium Falcon and Battle Escape attractions.

From the plans there appears to be limited on-site parking which leads us to believe the hotel will feature only valet parking.

The hotel itself will feature a basic rectangular design, confirming beliefs that it will be a smaller “boutique”-style hotel.

Details for the hotel are scarce at the moment, but Disney has shared concept art showing the proposed interior design of the rooms and common areas.

  1. I’m thinking that path will be for cast members to get to the hotel. That leads backstage to the new costume building where they will most likely come from once reaching DHS

    • I agree I think Finn jumped the gun assuming this path is how guests get to the park. No way these guests will walk outside.

  2. The yellow blob ends at the backside of Falcon and no where near an entry point to SWL. Also, there is no pedestrian crossing markings there or anywhere along the road. All the pedestrian markings make it clear that guests and/or cast will park in the lot and walk to the resort. There could be a tram,, I guess.

In front of the resort is a bay for 7 buses. I’m guessing that that will be the transport to SWL (if indeed the experience allows for that excursion). The buses have plenty of room to pull in west of Falcon rather than the alley between Falcon and Battle Escape.

    • The current access road to get into studios (backstage SWL) is being removed and a new entrance to the park is being constructed. All the space between SWL and the new hotel will be closed to cars and tethered.

  3. This will probably be the most expensive hotel on Property, and they will use it to cash in on the theming.

  4. They will transport guests into the park with a similar thing like the hogwarts express does between parks. Just mark it down now.

  5. Better not be a walk way to the park. I have been assuming that you wild take a special elevator that makes you feel like you are in a shuttle (Sea base alpha or the early Disney quest elevator type of thing) or a horizontal transport of some kind. That dumps you or right into the park. If you go down to the lobby and walk down a hallway thru a door like they have at Publix, I’m not going to happy.
