“it’s tough to be a bug” quietly closed at Disney California Adventure on March 19th as the first step towards creating a new MARVEL-themed land for the park. According to a new permit, the theater that has been a part of the park since it opened in 2001, will now be demolished.
The California Adventure expansion will open to guests in phases starting in 2020, with even more new experiences to follow.
The Guardians of the Galaxy will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe. This new land will be anchored the popular Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, with new additions in the adjacent space that is currently occupied by “a bug’s land.” “a bug’s land” will close late in 2018.
Part of me hopes to see these rides/attractions moved to Animal Kingdom. It would be a logical location for them and to give Animal Kingdom more attractions!
“it’s tough to be a bug” actually IS in DAK, since ever… (Under the Tree of Life)
Yes – I just meant the additional features of a Bugs Land
What will the little kids do now? Poor planning on Disney’s part.
Totally agree.
How do you know there won’t be anything for little kids? That kid in the poster looks pretty little to me.
This was a great ride sad to see it go.
