In the 5 years it has existed, Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom has seemingly had an endless number of offerings come and go. From pork shanks and beef stew, to specialty hot chocolate and cupcakes, there are many items that came and left at the Beauty and the Beast-themed eatery. The latest items to roll through that revolving door are macaron trios…

So how are they?

I’m deftly more of a chocolate and coffee-flavored dessert person, so I was surprised when I enjoyed these flavors more. The macarons were very fresh and had a very crisp, strong flavor. Yes, they are quite small and bit so for the price point, but they make up for it in quality and taste.

While these were not as good as the above trio, they were still really, really good. Again, the flavors are quite pronounced and even if you didn’t have the names of the flavors available to you and were blindfolded, you would undoubtedly still be able to tell what flavor it was that you were eating.

While I would like to tell you to not order these as they are really tiny and a terrible value, they are so good that I can’t bring myself to do it. If you are visiting Gaston’s Tavern and want to give these a try, I highly suggest you do. I also suggest you do it soon, because who knows how long they will last.

  1. That’s really not a bad price for macaron, it’s comparable to the prices at various establishments around my town.

  2. I wonder if the box of 6 marcarons you can get at Les Halles went up in price since the last time I saw them. They were just over $10.

      • Typically, yes. But often extra ingredients sneak in to prepared foods like this, so I think the question was probably to do with the ingredients in these specific macarons. Tiny traces of gluten from something like barley malt would be enough to give some people a reaction. I know the macarons in Epcot’s France are gluten free (but contain dairy, which also isn’t included in your ingredient list), so I’m hoping these will be as well!

    • Just posted a comment, but realized I forgot to “reply” with it here. Chipandco.com is reporting them as GF.

  3. Great price actually as I’ve ordered Macarons for as much as $3.50 each! Can’t wait to try these!
