The Mandalorian’s Katee Sackhoff Visits Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland

Katee Sackhoff, who portrays Bo-Katan Kryze in “The Mandalorian,” visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, meeting the Mandalorian and Grogu.

The Mandalorian and Grogu have been appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland since November 2022. They recently began appearing at the land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, too.

Sackhoff originally voiced Bo-Katan in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” and then reprised the role in “Star Wars Rebels.” She made her live-action debut as Bo-Katan in “The Mandalorian” season 2. She was upgraded to a main character in “The Mandalorian” season 3, making Bo-Katan the first character to have a main role in the series other than Din Djarin (a.k.a. The Mandalorian) and Grogu (a.k.a. Baby Yoda).

During her visit, Sackhoff constructed her own green lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop.

She chose elemental nature with a bantha horn pommel.

She also got a hold of the Darksaber in Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. Bo-Katan may not be a Jedi, but she has wielded the Darksaber before.

The Darksaber was created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian Jedi. It has been passed down through his descendants, and then to other rulers of the planet Mandalore.

“The Mandalorian” airs on Wednesdays on Disney+. There are two episodes left in season 3, and a fourth season is in development. Pedro Pascal stars as Din Djarin, with Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder acting as body doubles. Several puppeteers operate the hugely popular Grogu. Other recurring actors and characters include Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Omid Abtahi as Penn Pershing, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Emily Swallow as The Armorer, and Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto.

Temuera Morrison appeared as Boba Fett, and Ming-Na Wen appeared as Fennec Shand before starring in the spin-off, “The Book of Boba Fett,” which aired in late 2021 and early 2022.

A second spin-off, “Ahsoka,” will premiere this August. Rosario Dawson takes over the role of Ahsoka Tano from Ashley Eckstein, who voiced Ahsoka in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.” More characters from “Star Wars Rebels” will appear, including Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger. Hera and Chopper will also appear — and, no spoilers, but another “Star Wars Rebels” character just made his live-action debut in “The Mandalorian.”

Wondering why some Mandalorians take their helmets off when others don’t? Confused about the difference between Mandalore and Mand’alor? Does the timeline for the history of Mandalore seem convoluted? (It is.) We’ve got you covered with everything you need to know (and much, much more) about Mandalorians, their culture, and their homeworld of Mandalore.

“The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau recently said he thinks there should be a ride based on the show in Disney Parks, citing Din Djarin’s old spaceship, the Razor Crest, as the perfect vehicle.
