A new limited edition pin inspired by the “scrap metal” themes available at Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We found the pin off-world in The Darkroom.
Limited Edition Savi’s Workshop Pin – $19.99
The pin is a golden circle and reads “Savi & Son Salvage” in Aurebesh on the front. A lightsaber-inspired logo is across the center.
The pin opens and closes, like many of the other Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge pins. The logo for Black Spire Outpost, with “BSO” in Aurebesh, is etched inside on the left. On the right are symbols and colors representing the four “scrap metal” lightsaber themes available at Savi’s Workshop.
Red in the top left represents Power and Control. Brown in the top right represents Elemental Nature. Tan in the bottom left represents Protection and Defense. Blue represents Peace and Justice. The symbols are the same as those featured on the pins guests get when they build a lightsaber.
Recently, all of the “scrap metal” lightsaber themes were updated at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Savi’s Handbuilt Lightsabers is the custom Lightsaber building experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests must pre-pay $249.99 plus tax for the experience, which includes a lightsaber (a hilt, two sleeves, one emitter, one pommel cap, one set of activation plates and switches, and a 31″ blade), a cloisonné pin, and a lightsaber carrying case.
The in-universe story is that the Gatherers, who possess forbidden knowledge of the Jedi Order, are operating out of Savi & Son Salvage. On the surface, Savi sells scrap metals from old ships and devices. The Gatherers use his salvage shop as a cover to help Force-sensitive beings craft their own lightsabers.
When you arrive at Savi’s, the Gatherers will show you the various collections of “scrap metal” they have to offer. Each theme has multiple options for most of the lightsaber parts, so once you are inside the workshop, the Gatherers will help you select the specific designs you want for your hilt.
We showcased the entire Savi’s handbuilt lightsaber experience back in 2019 when Black Spire Outpost first opened. Though the “scrap metal” parts have changed, the experience remains the same. You can watch our video about the experience below.
