We were at EPCOT and had to try Joffrey’s Awesome Drink – Holiday Remix. It is only available at the Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company kiosk outside the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at the Wonders of Xandar pavilion.

When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opened to the public this past spring, the Joffrey’s location near the attraction offered a specialty-themed drink – Joffrey’s Awesome Drink, inspired by the attraction. Well, this is that drink, with some substitutions and dressed up for the holidays.
The drink has a few new changes. The syrup is now a green apple as opposed to a desert pear. Strawberry-flavored boba balls now take the place of the chewy green apple jelly stars. However, what makes this drink its most “Christmasy” is the overall layering of the flavors in the drink.
In traditional mixology, this type of drink is known as a pousse-café. However, instead of layering slightly different densities of various liqueurs, this drink uses non-alcoholic mixes.
The bottom layer is the green apple syrup. Forming the center of the drink are the frozen lemon ice and Minute Maid lemonade. This gives the middle a snow-like effect. On top, the strawberry-popping boba is not only red but also resembles holly berries.
Even after drinking it for quite some time and being in the heat, the colors remain separated, with the boba balls on top and the green at the base of the drink.
When sipping this drink, the first flavor you will taste is lemonade. It is quite prominent and creates the perfect tang. It’s super refreshing. The green apple flavoring is the second dominant flavor. Since they are both more in the sour category, they complement each other quite well.
The strawberry-popping boba is a nice added feature to the drink by providing a nice contrasting texture. Since the boba balls are quite a bit sweeter, when you get one of them mixed with the sourness of the drink, it creates a nice balance for the beverage. Overall it is a very sweet drink and does have an artificial taste to it. If you like sweet and sour drinks, this might be for you. However, we would pass on this as there are better offerings around World Showcase.
You can also get the drink topped with Grey Goose vodka. However, the strawberry-popping boba balls end up at the bottom of the drink. So the visual effect of the drink is distorted.
