REVIEW: Holiday Sweets & Treats Returns with Hot Cocoa and Beer for the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays

Returning for the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is the Holiday Sweets & Treats marketplace. In previous years, this booth has served cookies or sundaes in addition to sweet beverages, but this year the menu is strictly drinks, serving up a variety of hot cocoas and beers.

Hot Cocoa – $3.75

Hot Cocoa – $3.50

This is your standard Disney hot cocoa, similar to what you’d get at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and the like. Good for a chilly night, but there are far more interesting options on the festival food and beverage lineup.

Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea and Whipped Cream Vodka – $4.50

*NEW* Chocolate Peppermint Shake Featuring Twinings® Peppermint Cheer Tea and Whipped Cream Vodka – $11.00

These peppermint shakes are good, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. The non-alcoholic option of this beverage comes in a larger cup and with a striped paper straw. The added caffeine-free tea gives it somewhat of a minty aftertaste, but it blends well with the rest of the drink. The whipped cream vodka really elevates it from a standard hot chocolate that you can get around the park.

*NEW* Breckenridge Brewery Christmas Ale, Breckenridge, CO (7.1% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

From Breckenridge Brewery: “The chill of winter calls for a beer with extra flavor and strength! An abundance of carefully roasted malts create notes of caramel and chocolate, while Chinook and Mt. Hood hops contribute a spicy quality for balance and a clean finish.”

*NEW* Playalinda Brewing Co. Coquito Beer, Titusville, FL (5.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

Untappd describes this beer as an “amber ale with coconut & spices.”

*NEW* Brew Hub S’mores Porter, Lakeland, FL (8.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

Untappd describes this as an “imperial smoked porter conditioned on graham cracker, chocolate, and vanilla.”

Hot Cocoa with Assorted Cordials (Baileys Irish Cream [$21/bottle], Frangelico Liqueur [$22/bottle] or Fireball Cinnamon Whisky [$22/bottle]) – $11.50

Hot Cocoa with Assorted Cordials (Baileys Irish Cream [$21/bottle], Frangelico Liqueur [$22/bottle] or Fireball Cinnamon Whisky [$22/bottle]) – $11.00

All three of these alcoholic hot chocolates are delicious. The hot chocolate is thick and not watery, and has a good amount of alcohol in each cup. However, you could easily replicate these at home for probably a lower price.

Beer Flight – $10.00

Do you wish that the menu would go back to serving food, or do you think this should be known as the “hot cocoa” marketplace moving forward?
