As M’Baku exits Avengers Headquarters to start the presentation, he interacts with the crowd while the sound of drumbeats can be heard in the area.

When we visited, the crowd was very excited to see the Jabari chief, already chanting before he introduced himself.

The show opens with him explaining that the Jabari are the only tribe in Wakanda that doesn’t rely solely on vibranium as their source of power, instead drawing from a wood sacred to Hanuman, the ape deity worshipped by the Jabari.

After getting the crowd to show off their chants, M’Baku goes on to explain “the way of the Jabari,” strength through unity and respect of the past.

He then picks out volunteers from the crowd: two to provide animal noises, which the crowd repeats, and one to play the drum and keep the rhythm.

This is just one offering at the park to celebrate the debut of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” As part of the Festival of Holidays, a new “Flavors of Wakanda” marketplace features cuisine from across Africa. Additionally, guests can also try a Wakandan roasted pork wrap over at Shawarma Palace. Be sure to wash all that down with beverages served in a new gauntlet inspired by Shuri or a giant Wakandan Coca-Cola can from Pym Tasting Lab. And before leaving, be sure to take in the Black Panther Celebration Garden, which honors the superhero with art and sculpture, centered on a planter with the mysterious heart-shaped herb, which gives the Black Panther their enhanced abilities. All of these special offerings are scheduled to run through January 8, 2023.
