Give Kids the World Village Returns to Full Capacity, Discontinues Night of a Million Lights Event

Today, Give Kids the World Village announced on Twitter that they would finally return to full capacity after two and a half years. But there was a rather sad caveat that came with this announcement.

As the village returns to its full-time focus on “creating life-changing experiences for Wish families”, Give Kids the World announced today that their popular Night of a Million Lights event hosted in both 2020 and 2021 would no longer go on.

Give Kids the World Village, located in Kissimmee, FL, provides families with critically ill children an all-inclusive, week-long vacation. Everything from meals, to transportation, to theme park tickets are included during their stay at one of their villas.

The event began as a fundraiser in 2020 while the village was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic to support making wishes come true once more when it reopened. The event was a runaway success and returned last year as well. Over 3.2 million lights donated by the Walt Disney World Resort brought the village to life for the holidays.

Although Night of a Million Lights won’t return this year, you can still help this incredible organization fulfill its mission of bringing joy to critically ill children and their families through volunteering at the village and of course donation on their website.

We also host auctions and sweepstakes to benefit Give Kids the World right here on WDWNT, so keep an eye out for the latest opportunities to do some good.
