BREAKING: Vaccinated Guests Will No Longer Be Required to Take COVID-19 Tests to Sail on Disney Cruise Line

Since returning to service last summer, Disney Cruise Line has required even vaccinated guests to take a COVID-19 test before sailing. Starting in just a few weeks time, these regulations will be changing.

Beginning September 23, 2022, for sailings aboard the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish and Disney Wonder and beginning November 7, 2022, for sailings aboard the Disney Magic, fully vaccinated Guests are no longer required to participate in COVID-19 testing in order to sail.

Guests who are NOT fully vaccinated must continue providing proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken one to 3 days before the sail date. However, Guests who are not fully vaccinated will no longer be required to complete a second test at the terminal on embarkation day.

  1. Disney has sent emails to all guests retracting this information and have removed the change regarding testing from their website. Not sure this is actually happening.

  2. Still makes no sense since fully vaxed people can catch COVID, test positive, and be asymptomatic, just as easily as non-vaxed. Just another reason why testing does not matter anymore, but I guess Disney needs to continue to play COVID theater and pretend they are doing “something.”

  3. I have received both messages today regarding Covid-19 testing. The first removed testing requirement for the Disney Wonder as of September 23rd 2022. The second indicated the first message was in error and that “Pre-Trip Testing: Fully vaccinated Guests on sailings departing U.S. and Canadian ports must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result (paid for by the Guest) taken 1-2 days before setting sail.”

I then placed a phone call to Disney, 800-951-3532. In speaking with one of the customer
service representative was again told that Covid-19 testing prior to departing for fully vaccinated guests was not required. My sailing is October 2, 2022 on the Disney Wonder.

Which is it??? Testing required or not???

  4. Hi Tom – Very happy to hear this! Any idea when DCL will contact cruisers directly with this information? We sail on the Dream Oct 1 – 6. Thanks so much!

      • I have not received any direct E-mail from Disney and I sail on the Wonder Oct 2nd.

My travel agent, AAA (socal) does not have anything regarding the change in testing.

I Spoke with Disney directly today and they are saying there may be a glitch with the E-mail system, but they could read it over the phone.

Has anyone received a direct confirmation from Disney?
