PHOTO REPORT: Disney’s Hollywood Studios 7/25/22 (MagicBand+ Soft Launches in App, Driving Goofy DVC Billboard May Be Demolished, & More)

Good morning from Hollywood! Today, we’re taking a tour around Disney’s Hollywood Studios before taking a ride on the Disney Skyliner to check out Disney’s BoardWalk.

First things first, we tapped in at the gate with our MagicBand+, which we were able to link to our account in the My Disney Experience app.

We could change the colors of the band and adjust the haptic settings like brightness and motion sensitivity when waving at the statues during the Fab 50 Quest.

Time for some shopping! The first piece of Halloween merchandise ‘Feeling Fangtastic” Mickey Mouse shirt we found a few days ago is still in stock on the shelves.

It’s a mad dash to get rope drop attractions! Do you go down Sunset Boulevard first?

We decided to hit Batuu first! The planters hiding the new Batuu Bounty Hunters game tap point are still in place. Our MagicBand+ didn’t go off in the land at all while we were here, we’re excited to be able to play in a few days.

There’s a droid for this?! A “droid builders” R-Series mug is hot on the shelves at Droid Depot. It even comes with its own droid arm stir stick!

Lines were long today in Toy Story Land when we stopped in. We wanted to go for a quick “dash” on Slinky, but the wait time was 115 minutes! Tower of Terror was only 60 minutes, so we made our way to go “drop in” on Sunset Boulevard.

Have you gotten a pair of these yet? The spooky-cute new Tower of Terror ears glow in the dark! These are in stock at Tower Hotels Gifts after you get off of the elevator.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster next to Tower of Terror was also experiencing high wait times, so we decided to finish our afternoon in the shops.

Hey, Army Men! Did you know these guys are supposed to be back walking around Toy Story Land soon?

After a quick bite at Woody’s Lunch Box, we made our way over to Disney’s BoardWalk, where more work is speeding along at the future site of the Cake Bake Shop that’s coming in 2023. All signs of the old ESPN Club have been removed.

BoardWalk Bakery is also seeing some construction where it is being turned into the BoardWalk Deli, set to open in a few weeks.

It’s been a long day, so it’s time to head out! As we were heading home, it looks like some work is being done on the DVC Billboard on Buena Vista Drive. Hopefully, it is just a refurbishment as many of the old Disney advertisements are being demolished. Stay tuned for updates, and thanks for following along today!
