  1. There was no need for “refurbishment” of this space. It is also very sad that even with carpeting now, Disney just lays down a generic carpet that could be in any hotel that it not ever dialed or oriented to the positioning on the floor. Meaning that the carpeting is not framed. The prior carpeting throughout the hallways and public areas of the Grand Floridian was not only custom but custom framed for each placement area so that the patterns and designed lined up with the perspective of the placement and guest flow. Remnants of this can be seen on the stairways in the Main Building, but I am sure that it will come down soon as well. If you are going to replace something, it needs to be an upgrade, not a downgrade.

  2. Now, it looks like any other hotel restaurant. No oxymoron like ‘modernized Victorian’.
Great job Bob. The metal leaves and dragonfly on the wall? Looks more like midcentury.

  3. Absolutely beautiful! As a former and future patron of this Disney culinary adventure, it needed an updating. The former dining room was lovely, but dated. It brought me back to the late 80’s/early 90’s in reminded me of restaurant the “Golden Girls” would have patronized. Kudos for the update! Looking forward to seeing Israel once again!
