Trench Work Continues Around Journey of Water Inspired by Moana at EPCOT

Now that Disney has released new concept art of Journey of Water Inspired by Moana, we can now see just how the construction on view at EPCOT fits into the plans. Let’s take a look!

Since our last visit, the rockwork has continued to develop.

Blue and orange tarps are now in place on the scaffolding surrounding this structure, with construction workers looking like they may be sculpting features onto the framework.

Nearby, plenty of scaffolding and equipment was seen, likely working on the ridge of rockwork that divides the attraction from the lagoon, seen in the concept art below;

Elsewhere, the only uncluttered area is this pathway, likely marking where guests will walk where it opens.

Excavators could be seen digging in the deep trench, which may serve as part of the lagoon.

Could this wooden gate represent the attraction entrance? The lagoon is directly to the right of the entrance in the concept art, which would line up with its proximity to the trench.

Meanwhile, drainage pipes could be seen inside the reservoir-like structures.

Deeper into the site, dirt mounds show off just how much has been dug up during construction.

With Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind already in previews, it seems that the work in this part of EPCOT has gotten even busier.
