Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course Closing Indefinitely May 9

Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be dropping down to just 9 holes instead of 18 for a short period starting next week, but then the entire course will be unavailable for an extended period due to ongoing construction on World Drive near the Transportation and Ticket Center.

Per The Walt Disney World Golf website:

PLEASE NOTE!…During the dates of April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022 only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play, and beginning on May 9, 2022 Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a major renovation project. We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this golf course, and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly re-imagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course later this year.

  1. I doubt this is because of work on World Drive since the Magnolia Course is way over by Shades of Green and the GF. With the summer coming up and I think a few gold tournaments (PGA Senior tour?) I’m sure this is more about extended course maintenance which is not usual. It could also be reconfiguring some of the fairways, etc.

      • Are you drawing that conclusion because of the phrase “major renovation project”?
As someone who works in the golf industry, the timing and wording to me reads that they are doing something more like a greens renovation, or maybe an irrigation or bunker project.
