Disney Parks has shared a video on TikTok about the ongoing testing of Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom.
The railroad has been closed for over three years due to construction of TRON Lightcycle / Run in Tomorrowland. Some track was replaced during this time, so the refurbished Walter E. Disney locomotive is being used to test the track. As shared in the video, it takes two to three hours to get the locomotive to pressure every morning before testing can begin.
A new railroad tunnel and section of track are not yet complete near TRON Lightcycle / Run, so it will likely still be another year or two before the railroad reopens.
