‘Avatar’ Editor David Brenner Passes Away at 59

Academy Award-winning film editor, David Brenner, passed away at age 59 on Thursday morning.

Producer of “Avatar,” Jon Landau, tweeted about Brenner’s passing.

James Cameron also shared his condolences on Twitter.

Brenner had been working on the sequels to James Cameron’s “Avatar” films for about a year before passing away.

Brenner won an Academy Award for his editing work on “Born on the Fourth of July.” In addition to his work on the “Avatar” sequels, Brenner was also known for his work on “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.”

A GoFundMe page has been set up in memory of Brenner. According to Jon Landau, the page is not only to help the Brenner family financially, but “to let his wife Amber and his children Annie, Haider and Sasha know how many other lives David touched.”

Our condolences go out to David Brenner and his family and friends.
