Universal Orlando Resort Unvaccinated Team Members No Longer Required to Undergo Weekly COVID-19 Testing

Universal Orlando Resort has reversed the decision to require unvaccinated Team Members to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing, which was initially announced on January 10.

The policy was in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Emergency Temporary Standard. Team Members had until February 9 to be vaccinated or undergo weekly testing.

The Supreme Court struck down the vaccine or testing mandate on January 13, so Universal Orlando Resort changed their policy in response.

Universal Orlando Resort Team Members are still required to share their vaccination status but vaccination is not required and it is optional to provide proof.

Team Members are encouraged to be vaccinated and, through at least April 9, 2022, will be paid if they have to miss work due to vaccine or booster shot side effects.
